I did not leave Madrid for Money, says Khedira

No comments :
Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has hit out at critics saying his move to the club was fueled by money.

"It hurt me when people said that. Real Madrid offered me a huge contract , one in which I could have eventually earned more.

My decision to leave was not about money," the 28-year-old told German Newspapaer Welt am Sonntag.

He added, "I can't be accused of acting disloyally or improperly. At one point I told my agent, Jörg Neubauer, who couldn't be a bigger Real Madrid fan, that I wanted a change. I was tired, because at the end it was extremely exhausting. However, I have to say that overall I had five fantastic years there."

He acknowledged Real Madrid's image as a global brand, and said the expectations for playing for the club was difficult at times.

"The obligation of having to win everything at all costs is something I have never experienced.

"Real Madrid has an image abroad that words cannot describe. The club is a magnet. No matter where you are there will be thousands of people who are with the club.

"I have experienced it myself. When I look for a holiday destination I always look for a place far away. But no matter how remote the place is, in any corner of the world, people always recognize me."

Khedira was involved in Germany's 7-0 win over Gibraltar on Saturday in the Euro 2016 qualifying game.

ESA Comet Lander Philae wakes up from Hibernation

No comments :
The European Space Agency (ESA) says its comet lander, Philae, has woken up and contacted Earth after 7 months of hibernation.

According to Rosetta's blog, the spacecraft sent signals to Earth for a period of 85 seconds.

Philae which was launched in 2004 in a Rosetta spacecraft landed on Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko last November, and went into hibernation mode due to reduced sunlight and off-nominal spacecraft orientation at its unplanned landing site. The official twitter account for the spcacraft tweeted on Sunday, which said: "Hello Earth! Can you hear me?"
DLR Philae Project Manager Dr. Stephan Ulamec said: "Philae is doing very well: It has an operating temperature of -35ºC and has 24 Watts available. The lander is ready for operations."

Scientists who now await the next contact said the spacecraft may have woken up earlier, as they received a historical data from the probe.

About 8000 packets of data in Philae’s mass memory is enough to give scientists information about what happened to the lander in the past few days.

Philae detached from Rosetta on 12 November 2014 at 08:35 UTC SCE, and  landed on the 67P the same day. It is designed to analyse ice and rock on the comet.
